This lesson I learned after organizing a group campout along the California coast. I didn’t notice the little, seemingly insignificant, RR track symbols on the campground map. I’ve camped in the desert, the mountains, the snow, beside an alpine lake, adjacent a desert oasis, under a redwood cathedral, and on an island.
I’ve roughed it in the wind, the rain, in the snow, the oppressive heat (one weekend too long in the desert, agh!- again) and on the beach. I’ve camped out in the open, in the back of a truck, in various sizes of tents- from backpacking tents, all the way up to a condominium- sized tent complete with dogs and kids, in cabins- both rustic and romantic, a pop-up trailer and coming up next weekend- a new one for me- an RV.
